What is Love? [LOVE 1]

[Navigator: LOVE 1 Ž Visitors are requested to start from LOVE1.]

Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is.

I myself, too, don’t boast of knowing exactly what love is, and I don’t think there is any appropriate definition of love. One can just point out some features of it. In doing so, I may need to take help of some great minds:

“Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.”

—Robert Frost.

This is what love is. If you think you can resist it, you’ll surely feel otherwise later.

“Love is an energy – it can neither be created nor destroyed. It just is and always will be.”

—Albert Einstein.

Now you see why you cannot resist it. This is also why you cannot create it. You must accept it as it is.

“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.”

—Aristotle.

This is of course in case of Mutual Love. It needs sharing and mutual understanding, as we all know.

And now one for those who are more rational:

“Love is like pi (∏) — natural, irrational and very important.”

—Lisa Hoffman.

Do I need anything more to say? These are some examples of expressing what love is. But, in fact, all of us have different views on the same subject.

And one thing you must remember before falling in love:

“Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.”

—Mark Overby.

To be continued…
